This is a review of the Kyowa Induction Cooker Model KW-3631. I have always been paranoid of LPG Cookers, at the back of my mind, everytime I would use it, I would think that maybe it will explode. But thankfully that scenario only plays on my mind. Anyway just for peace of mind, I purchased this Kyowa Induction Cooker at Robinsons Galleria for only Php 1,299.00 Very cheap right? And according to Meralco, Induction cookers uses less power consumption than electric cookers. BUT, there is a but, the problem with Induction cookers is that not all Frying Pans or Pots will work with it. So I ended up buying another sets of cookware, the ones that are made to work for Induction Cookers, and mind you the smallest and cheapest pot I got was priced at Php 850. So using this kind of cooker is really an investment. Also another disadvantage I experienced is when frying, you will have a hard time adjusting the temperature so as not to burn your food and also to make sure it is cooked inside and out. I tried to fry a Tofu and it ended up burnt on the outside but under cooked on the inside. Because the lowest setting of temperature which is at 140 degrees C, can barely fry an egg, the next setting is 200 degrees C, which turned out to be too hot and you will end up burning anything you may be frying. So I guess, the only good food to cook with this Induction Cooker are the ones with Soup only, maybe Sinigang, Tinola or Nilaga? Anyways For the Safety it gives compared to LPG cookers, I guess it is still okay but not really recommended. I am not sure with other models of Induction Cookers though, maybe it is just this particular model, other models maybe better.
