Visit Anawangin Cove on a Tight Budget

First of all, I am confused if it is Anawangin or Annawangin, but most people spell it Anawangin. Anyway we were supposed to be 4 on this trip but 1 backed out so there's just 3 persons on this trip. We decided to go to Anawangin for an overnight stay but the problem is my friend Joy will be out of her work at 12 noon. And the trip from Cubao to Zambales will take about 4-5 hours. So I was worried that there will be no boats who will take us to Anawangin if we arrive late at night in Zambales. Fortunately I found one person in Sulit.com.ph who is willing to take us to Anawangin if we arrive at Zambales by at least 7pm.

We were so excited, but when we arrived at Victory Liner Cubao, the bus going to Iba, Zambales is scheduled to leave at 3:30pm. Wow and the trip is about 4-5 hours. We were so worried that no one will take us to Anawangin if we arrived there at 8:30pm! And We were right, we arrived at San Antonio, Zambales at about 9pm. We were fetched by the person I contacted through sulit.com.ph and told us that it is very late already to take the boat to Anawangin. By the way I purchased a package worth Php 2,400 all in. Including boat ride, tent, utensils, entrance and camping fees. We asked him, so where are we going to stay now? Good thing they have a resort in San Antonio, the resort has a lot of bamboo house type cottages or "Bahay Kubo" style. And we ended up having a lot of fun there because it has a videoke machine, we got drunk at sing till about 4am. And the best thing is we stayed there for free. :) Because they promise to take us to Anawangin that night, but was not able to, that's why we stayed there for free. But they promise to take us to Anawangin by morning anyway.

So in conclusion, even though we were not able to camp in Anawangin, it was still fun and worth it. Here is the break down of our expenses.

Php 2,400  Package
Php    500  Bus Fare (2 way, Php 250 each way)
Php    160  Tricycle Fare ( 2 way )

Php  3,060/ 3 Persons = Php 1,020 per person only!

And yeah we brought our own food, drinks and alcohol! And we had a lot of fun! The next day, they took us to Anawangin and we coocked our own food there. Please bring your own food and drinks, there are stores there but the Prices of food and drinks are so high! Imagine a bottle of 1.5 Liter of Coke cost Php 90 and 1 order of rice is Php 20!

This is the Kubo in San Antonio, where we stayed for the night. It has a videoke machine. Php 5 per song.

Anawangin looks much better in pictures, but once you're in there, it's just okay, you will get a feeling of you are in a Park in Metro Manila, my friend also has the same feeling as mine. But it was a lot of fun and definitely worth visiting. I will give Anawangin a score of :
